Scholarships

The Community Foundation is the global center for generosity. We are a public foundation committed to recognizing, informing and engaging donors through a variety of means to magnify giving locally and throughout the world. Our goal is to provide you with customized service that will allow you to realize your charitable goal.

Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast Cape Coral Resident Scholarship
  • GPA of 3.2 or better (unweighted)
  • Accepted to at least one accredited junior college, college, or university
  • Must be a graduating senior of any Lee County High School, including accredited homeschooled graduating seniors
  • Must live in Cape Coral
  • No immediate family may be a member of Rotary

Beier Scholarship

The Beier Scholarship Fund was created to assist Immokalee High School students on a needs basis to further their education by attending a two or four year college or Technical School. This scholarship will also consider past Immokalee graduates furthering their education through iTECH in Immokalee. Students must:

  • Maintain a GPA score of 3.0 for college/university and 2.0 technical school
  • Agree to provide $1000 annually towards yearly expenses

Mr. Bill West Scholarship

The Mr. Bill West Memorial Scholarship is a $1000 non-need-based scholarship. It was created to help one Mariner High School graduating Senior annually begin his or her college education. It is specifically focused on assisting students who have shown marked improvement in academic achievement in their junior and senior years, demonstrating that they have come to realize the importance of hard work and focus on becoming successful in life.

Brancati Teacher Development Scholarship

The Helen & Edward Brancati Teacher Development Scholarship was begun in memory of our parents who felt that education was the door to the future and that a good teacher was the key.

One $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to the teacher who best exemplifies the dedication to the principles and high professional standards of Helen and Edward Brancati. This teachers’ scholarship opens its cycle from February 1st through March 31st.
Who May Apply:

  1. Any teacher employed by an accredited school in the United States.
  2. Classroom teachers seeking post graduate education, or needing funds for required continuing education classes, workshops or conferences as well as for certification courses. Applicants may not use this scholarship money for post graduate classes that will lead to an administrative position removing them from the classroom.
  3. The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.

Brighten the Corner, Inc. Scholarship

The Brighten the Corner Scholarship Fund offers a limited number of scholarships to students who have been accepted to or are currently attending Florida Southwestern College. Applicants should regularly attend a local church. This scholarship is renewable for students who continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Renewal is not guaranteed but based on continued eligibility and submission of renewal application.

Dr. Charles & Ruth Bagley Education Scholarship Fund

The purpose is to assist Cape Coral Hospital employees who wish to continue their education in hospital-based healthcare.
Scholarship Award – up to $750.

  • Applicant must be an employee of Cape Coral Hospital and have been employed for a period of 12 consecutive months
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited educational facility
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 (unweighted)
  • Scholarships may be made to assist with tuition, purchase of books and/or class required supplies. Scholarships will be made to the educational facility, not the individual recipient.
  • Selected final applicants may be called for an interview.

James C. & Madeline K. Holmes Scholarship

To fund a scholarship for graduating high school seniors in Cape Coral who want to pursue a post-secondary science education

  • Benefits students attending high schools within the city limits of Cape Coral
  • Major course of study must be the sciences
  • Must attend an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Must have a minimum 3.5 unweighted grade point average
  • Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $5,000.

JSC Priority Scholarship

This is a one-time $1200 scholarship awarded to one graduating senior from North Fort Myers High School who demonstrates the academic and athletic leadership in school and community, and financial need requirements as outlined in the application.

Kai Fuhrmann College Scholarship

The Kai Fuhrmann College Scholarship Fund is for graduating seniors who attend a high school in the City of Cape Coral, city limits who wish to further their education by attending college. We will be awarding one $500 (five-hundred) scholarship. Mr. Fuhrmann passed away on September 14, 2011, at the age of 51 after a 10-year battle with colon cancer and his wishes were to give back to the community of Cape Coral students by having his family establish a scholarship in his name.

Patricia Means Scholarship Fund

The purpose is to fund a scholarship for high school seniors who are graduating from a high school in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, or Glades County including accredited homeschooled seniors, or an existing college student who graduated from one of these counties’ high schools.
Scholarship Award – $1,000.

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (unweighted) but must not exceed a 3.4 GPA (student must have an average of a “C” or “B” to apply)
  • Must enroll full-time in a technical school, community college, 4-year college or university.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Selected final applicants may be called for an interview in March or April.

Robert and Bertha Bird Scholarship

In 2004, Robert and Bertha Bird bequeathed assets to Faith Presbyterian Church specifying the establishment of the scholarship fund to be awarded annually to a candidate(s) who is associated with Faith Church and demonstrates outstanding qualities of church and community service, scholastic excellence and a desire to continue his or her education beyond high school. The ideal candidate is a graduating high school senior who combines these qualities to the highest degree and is going on to college.

Who can apply: Anyone who is a member of or is related to a member of Faith Presbyterian Church and is planning on attending an institution of learning beyond the high school level.

Beier Renewal Scholarship

This is a reminder that your Beier Scholarship is a renewable scholarship. While this is a renewable up to 4-year scholarship, there is no guarantee due to your requirements and pending scholarship fund monies available. Students must:

  • Maintain a GPA score of 3.0 for college/university and 2.0 technical school
  • Agree to provide $1000 annually towards yearly expenses

Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast Renewal Scholarship

As part of your Rotary Goldcoast Renewal Scholarship requirements, you are required to annually provide submitted documentation, from the school, of meeting these requirements by April 9th of each year:

  • maintaining a 3.2 grade point average
  • being a full-time student
  • completing the previous school year

We only provide a courtesy reminder after your first year; from that point forward it will be your responsibility without notification to provide the requirements by dates noted above.
