The Cape Coral Community Foundation supports the Cape Coral Community Foundation supports the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce Junior Leadership Program each year by offering students the opportunity to learn about Philanthropy first-hand. During the leadership program the students participate in the grantmaking process and disburse $3,000 to three local nonprofits.
The Cape Coral Community Foundation recognizes Cape Coral’s very own outstanding philanthropists annually through the presentation of the Tabor Award.
A History of Strategic Grants Impacting Our Community
Strategic grantmaking is not so much an activity as it is a way of thinking, an understanding of the multiple ways to leverage change and to ensure our future.
One important role of the Cape Coral Community Foundation is to be recognized leader in the community and connect those who wish to give and who want to make a differene with those who are need of a difference.
The Foundation serves as the “piggy bank” for Cape Coral by providing the necessary resources and opportunities to benefit social and educational needs wthin the community.
Lee Mental Health
Capacity Building Grant – $30,000
Brings the first full-time mental health counselor to Cape Coral.
Supporting Lee Memorial Mental Health and Southwest Florida Addiction Services to provide mental health services to Cape Coral, and encouraging their collaborative efforts.
Dr. Piper Center
Senior Services Grant Initiatives – $10,000
Provided case management for 50 frail elderly clients who have been successfully maintained in their own Cape Coral homes and to enroll additional low-income senior companion volunteers to help them.
Children’s Advocacy Center
Mental Health Grant Initiative – $10,000
$10,000 Mental Health and Addiction Services Grant to expand its Family Alliance Program to Cape Coral, providing therapeutic counseling to children 5-17.
